Washing Instructions

Indigo is beautiful…but it needs to be treated with care and love, while making and wearing, Storing.. It’s common for indigo dyes to lose color. At mdenim, our fabrics are washed several times across the process of handcrafting the designer saree to minimize fading. Yet, it may still loose color in the first few washes. But, worry not, by following a few simple steps, you will be able to enjoy this fabulous saree for a long time.

Wash your mdenim saree in cold water, separately from other items, using a mild detergent.
Adding a spoon of vinegar reduces color loss.
Do not soak the garment for a long time. Do not rub or brush your saree.
You may notice blue running out into the water – this is normal and will stop after a few washes.
We recommend hang drying. Do not Dry in sunlight asd it can cause fading. Dry in shade.
Indigo garments fade overtime, it’s characteristic for the color and only adds to its charm. After all, we all love our faded denims, don’t we?
If required Iron at low temperatures, do not leave moisture on garments. Rolling the saree on a tube and covering it with opaque poly bags or black or Dark color fabric will reduce ozone fading.
for storing will avoid localized fading. Wear and wash as directed frequently.
This saree is handcrafted from a Tencel Indigo Denim and due to the nature of indigo and the manual process uneven effects, yellowing, color loss, staining on whiter areas may occur. These imperfections are marks of authenticity and that is the beauty of the mdenim saree.
